Senior Supply Chain Manager

G Systems, Inc., a growing technology and manufacturing company, seeks a Senior Supply Manager for full-time in-person permanent employment at our Irving, Texas facility located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Founded in 1990, G Systems specializes in the design, system integration and production of custom systems in the aerospace, defense, RF, energy, and biomedical industries.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Supply Chain Manager position has direct responsibility and oversight in subcontracts management, strategic sourcing, commodity and COTS material procurement, vendor management, cost reduction, material handling and departmental improvements. G System’s material needs range from prototype to medium volume parts including custom machining, weldments, plating and painting, sheet metal, PCBA/CCA fabrication, wire harness, sub-assemblies as well as off-the-shelf purchased parts and hardware. This position reports to the Vice President of Operations and is responsible for all supply chain and material storages and handling. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Negotiate and manage subcontracts including high dollar, high visibility DOD subcontracts
  • Manage all buyers, material handling, receiving, shipping and administrative support.
  • Perform strategic sourcing and supplier management for subcontracts and outsourced services through negotiations and contract and spend management techniques.
  • Ensure that all contracts are compliant with public law policies, company business procedures, and import/export regulations (EAR/ITAR).
  • Author and develop and manage request for proposals and long term supply agreement documents for subcontract activities.
  • Analyze supplier spend, capacity, and develop overall supplier negotiation and engagement strategies.
  • Implement sustainable cost controls and develop cost reduction improvement plans with suppliers
  • Own supplier metrics such as on time delivery, quality, and cost control
  • Have extreme ownership of the material health overall which means working closely with production. Engineering and AR/AP counterparts to stay on top of start and finish dates, cycle times, and cash containment.
  • Solve problems to recover from late breaking changes or shortages. Ensure that the production is supported by a credible and well-thought-out inventory demand-supply plan.
  • Lead complex outsourcing and cross functional projects
  • Independently negotiate contracts and contract terminology, pricing, technical requirements, scope, and terms involving responsibility, liability, indemnification, customer requirements flowdowns and intellectual property rights with suppliers
  • Interpret the terms and conditions of contracts including fiscal and legal implications and advise management on all significant procedures and regulations affecting the contract
  • Act as liaison with external and internal customers on all matters affecting material contractual agreementsDevelop and lead purchase part and commodity strategies for sheet metal, raw material, wire, machined parts, Hardware, and other aerospace components from cradle to grave
  • Be the “go to” resource for engineering, manufacturing, bid and proposal teams when determining best value suppliers, New Product Introduction sourcing plans, make vs. buy, should cost, buy complete strategies, and lead times, etc.
  • Proactively investigate new market trends, supplier roadmaps, and collaborate with engineering on best path from a technology, cost, and supply standpoint
  • Drive design for manufacturability reviews with support from supplier quality and engineering. Champion value-add and value engineering projects to improve part quality and reduce cost
  • Mitigate sole/single source risk and ensure continuity of supply. Champion supplier discovery and visit supplier’s facilities to accurately assess technical capability, equipment, and capacity
  • Analyze procurement data and report metrics, produce reports with findings
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures and government regulations
  • Lead, train and improve buyers and buying process

Qualifications:

  • Minimum ten years of experience in supplier contracts negotiation, material or production planning, operations or supply chain management, and material cost control
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word and MRP systems
  • Eligibility for ITAR and defense contract work. (US Person)
  • Experience in Aerospace and/or Defense industries
  • Experience in Government contracting and flowdowns
