Growing company in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex specializing in the design and development of custom test and measurement, data acquisition, and control systems seeks a Senior Engineering Technician for full-time, permanent employment. Since our founding in 1990, we have supplied hundreds of custom turnkey systems for a wide variety of industries including military/aerospace, biomedical, and telecommunications.
Senior Engineering Technicians build and install automated test, measurement, and control systems.
Responsibilities:
- Assist engineers on system design and documentation of custom test and measurement systems
- Select, procure and integrate hardware such as computers, instrumentation, sensors, and racks
- Lead, mentor and train Electro-Mechanical Technicians and assemblers
- Sustaining support for installed systems
- Maintain lab and integration processes, tools, and work areas
- Work autonomously or in a team environment
- Interface directly with customers and end-users for training and troubleshooting
Qualifications:
- High school diploma – ideal candidate will also have a 2 or 4 year technical degree
- 5+ years of experience building and maintaining electronic or electro-mechanical systems
- Good understanding of both electric/electronic systems and mechanical systems including PCBA’s, instrumentation, sensors, rack systems, cabling, fixtures, wire harnesses, ITAs, Virginia Panel, and PC hardware
- Ability to read and understand mechanical assembly drawings, electrical schematics and BOM
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both verbal and written
- Strong troubleshooting skills and an innovative and resourceful mindset
- Eligibility for ITAR and defense contract work as a verifiable US person
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lb for mechanical assembly processes
During the interview process, technical and interpersonal skills will be tested and a background check will be performed. In general, work will be performed in the DFW area. However, occasional travel may be required.
